I know. It sounds like going to Florence without any interest in the Renaissance. Las Vegas is all about gambling, no? Those huge hotels on the Strip that are attractions in themselves, with casinos the size of shopping malls that seem to go on for miles, a sea of colour and flashing lights that indicate you’re up or – most likely – down. Hitting the jackpot isn’t impossible - otherwise why else would millions of punters keep trying? – but it’s statistically improbable, which is how Vegas stays in business.
