These furry residents have been so beneficial to the town’s trade that residents treat them to an enormous feast each November. They’re great to see – just remember to hang on tight to your belongings!
Monkeys aside, Lopburi offers a refreshing insight into Thailand’s history. There are some interesting sights around the rustic railway station, where old Khmer ruins mingle amongst modern buildings. Don’t miss the ruins of Wat Phra Sri Ratana Maha Tat, parts of which date back to the 10th and 11th centuries.
