The mansion has been recently renovated by H.M. Queen Sirikit and is now a museum that pays tribute to the late King. The mansion is sometimes used for stately functions, particularly when other heads of state or royalty visit. In these cases, it is closed to the public so its best to check the website or with your guide ahead of visiting.
The main exhibition is held in the Abhisek Dusit Hall which showcases the collection of the Queen’s silk masterpieces, in particular those from Ban Tha Sawang. The other exhibitions show various arts and items such as royal carriages, ancient cloth, portraits of royals, and those of rank in Thai society.
